MA 55 – Measuring Machine
Take your wire rope operations to the next level with the Talurit® MA 55 measuring machine. This next-generation unit works just as well as a stand-alone machine or as part of a Talurit® system solution, and can even be integrated into third-party handling lines with minor adjustments. Thanks to its advanced PLC, users can rely on precise length measuring with seamless automation and control.
The wire rope is placed directly into the unit and measuring is done with the aid of a high-precision incremental encoder. Any wire rope — with or without socket, terminal or turnback — can be measured without threading, and a lockable upper measuring wheel lets the operator position the rope freely before engaging. A spring-loaded counterweight prevents slippage as the rope passes through robust in- and outguides. The encoder is connected to a PLC and can be programmed with a final length and preselector contact to control connected units, like uncoiling or coiling machines.
A typical application is a semi-automatic spooling and cutting line. The MA 55 signals the coiling unit, e.g. UL 800 P, to slow down when a pre-selected length is reached and to stop at the final length. Significantly more compact and around a third lighter than the previous MA 45 ADV, it integrates easily into space-constrained environments. Its 4.3″ touch screen sits on a magnetic base for flexible, ergonomic positioning, and provides several in- and output signals, length calibration for maximum accuracy, and length conversion to show mm, cm, m, inch and feet.
