Guide to the marking of the dies

All of our swaging die sets are marked in the same way. Below we explain further what each marking means. If you have any questions, always feel free to contact us.

Ferrule type & size.
The upper die in each set is marked with the intended ferrule type and size.

Pair number.
Swaging dies are manufactured in pairs. Both dies are marked with their pair number. These numbers must match for a set.

Block size.
Shows what block size the die set is. The D in this example, is standard for a a 600T swager. The standard block sizes for different swagers can be found in our data sheets.

Type of die.
Indicates what type of die it is, i.e. what type of bore it has. The R in this case, means that the bore is straight. Below is the description for all our standard-type dies.

Type K has a conical bore.
Type KH has a conical bore with a pin for the inspection hole.
Type R has a straight cylindrical bore.
Type A has a cylindrical bore with one-sided rounding.
Type FR has a cylindrical bore designed for multi-stage swaging.
Type FRK has a short cylindrical bore designed for multi-stage swaging.

Size of ferrule.
This shows what size of the ferrule that can be swaged. The marking 20/22 in this example, means that both size T20 and size UM22 can be swaged.

Serial number.
Each Talurit® swaging die set is marked with a unique serial number. This marking is placed on both dies in a set.
