Talurit Group launches the next-generation Talurit® MA 55 measuring machine for precise, efficient and waste-free wire rope length measurement
Talurit Group continues to advance its premium wire rope handling range with the launch of the Talurit® MA 55. This next-generation measuring machine is engineered for accurate length measurement of steel wire ropes from 3 to 55 mm in diameter, with unlimited measuring length. Available as a standalone unit or integrated into Talurit® wire rope handling lines, and readily adapted to third-party lines, the MA 55 pairs high-precision measurement with a lighter, more compact and more ergonomic design that makes every length count.
Accurate length measurement is often where efficiency and profitability begin. Wire rope is valuable, and every length measured correctly is material that is not wasted, rejected or re-cut. The MA 55 measures with a high-precision incremental encoder, delivering a measurement accuracy of better than 1 % and repeatability within 0.25 %. Operators gain the confidence that finished lengths are right the first time, thereby minimising costly rework and supporting reliable traceability in serial production.
Succeeding the well-proven MA 45 ADV, the MA 55 has been engineered from the ground up for greater efficiency and ease of use. It is approximately a third lighter and occupies considerably less floor space, making it easier to place in production environments. A 4.3-inch touch screen on a magnetic base can be positioned dynamically to suit each operator, reducing fatigue across different line configurations. A reengineered measuring head allows any wire rope configuration, with or without socket, terminal or turnback, to be measured without threading.
As part of a Talurit® handling line, the MA 55 becomes the precision core of a semi-automatic spooling and cutting process. Connected through an advanced PLC, it can be programmed with a final length and preselector contact to control connected units. For example, signalling a coiling machine such as a UL 800 to decelerate at a pre-selected length and stopping precisely at the final length. The result is a coordinated, single-operator workflow that raises throughput without compromising accuracy.
