UL 5000/400 – Coiling Machine

The system boasts an impressive capacity, capable of handling wire rope drums weighing up to 5 tonnes and naked coils up to 400kg. Its robust design empowers rigging shops to streamline their operations effectively.

At the core of the UL 5000/400 is a commitment to operator safety. The system features an innovative wire rope guide, guaranteeing that the operator remains at a safe distance from the running wire rope while maintaining full operational control.

The coiling unit is fully enclosed to eliminate any potential harm to the operator. Rigging and unloading of wire rope drums can be managed from a safe distance using either the control panel or the included handheld remote control. Moreover, the coil is fully collapsible as a standard feature and offers adjustability in both width and inner diameter.

The machine can be used with the standard pin, cones, or additional adapters, which enable it to accommodate drums with larger pin holes. When utilizing cones, the maximum handling weight is 500 kg. The wire rope guide is equipped with a control mechanism that allows the operator to steer the machine effortlessly. Grabbing the control activates the machine, and upon release, it promptly executes a secure stop, essentially functioning as a “dead man’s handle”. The wire rope guide also offers speed control, directional control, and has its own emergency brake, ensuring comprehensive control and protection for the operator. When integrated with our measuring machine and turntable, the UL 5000/400 becomes the cornerstone of a one-man-operated system, expertly managing the handling of running wire ropes securely. In this setup, the start/stop and ramp up/down functions of all integrated machines synchronize seamlessly, uniting them into an efficient, integrated system.
