Talurit® test beds can be equipped with a hydraulic fixing device to enable testing of wire rope with only one end termination. The termination of the wire rope is secured with a mandrel/pin on the test bench and the free length is clamped in the jaws of the fixing device. Typical usage of a fixing device is when testing a long rope, e.g. a drum of hoisting rope with one end termination only. For example; proof testing end stops on wire ropes for cranes or winch ropes and other similar applications. The fixing device can be used for multiple types of testing, including full load break testing.

Thanks to the unique jaw design, a wide range of wire rope diameters can be handled without the need to change inserts, reducing your setup time drastically. The long aluminum jaws prevent the wire rope from being damaged and have a wire rope capacity of 10 to 75 mm in diameter. The maximum pulling capacity is 1000 kN (100mT).

The fixing device is intended for usage with the main cylinder only and can not be altered with the standard mounting. It is mounted onto the test bed with eight bolts. In order to be mounted on another test bed, optional securing plates can be customized.

Simple and intuitive controls make the DB FD 100T both easy and safe to operate. It is driven by its own hydraulic unit and the clamping force is adjusted steplessly with a potentiometer for better tuning. The operator can monitor the clamping force in real time on the pressure gauge and adjust accordingly. In order to release the clamping jaws, the operator needs to simultaneously push the release button and the start button. This is a safety feature that prevents the operator from releasing the jaws and clamping force by mistake.
